43 miles downhill to Clarkston, WA.  With a ZIP code of 99403, Clarkston has the highest zip code of any area in the contiguous United States.

Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA.  The name Clarkston is a reference to William Clark, of Lewis and Clark fame. Lewiston, across the Idaho state line from Clarkston, is named for Meriwether Lewis, and is the larger and older of the two cities (ironically Lewis and Clark never even set foot on the Clarkston side of the river).

"The Land of the Butterfly..."

...this is the only one we saw in three days and two nights...

Clearwater River in Clarkston, WA

Opening of steelhead fishing season the Washington side of the Clearwater River, 80 plus boats just in view of the RV on Labor Day weekend.  The steelhead is a sea-run rainbow trout usually returning to freshwater to spawn after two to three years at sea; rainbow trout and steelhead trout are the same species.

The second time Ross ran a "two state run", Washington to Idaho and back to Washington (the other time was Oregon to Washington and back)

On the way to Coeur d' Alene, ID, about 2 hours north of Lewiston, ID / Clarkston, WA

The climb out of Lewiston, ID is a few thousand feet in about four miles
