Philadelphia, PA

As new veterans of cold weather we have established procedures for living with the conveniences of life (running water, hot water, and heat).  We now understand the nuances of heated hoses, insulating certain spaces, closing appropriate slides, the strategic opening of cabinets, placing heaters, draining lines at times, and when to do all such things.  Schedules have been enacted and normal life resumes.  We are in New Jersey just across from Philadelphia, PA, and 20 degrees almost seems warm.

New York -to- Vermont -to- New Hampshire -to- Maine -to- Massachusetts -to- Rhode Island -to- Connecticut -to- New Jersey

We were in New England for the past few days.  It was relatively cold, and we learned about RVing in arctic air.

Frost on the wall.

In NY we were on a mountain and on the hill behind us was a deer area.  They spent time there in the morning sun.  On the right half of the picture there are about eight deer running through the woods.

While waiting for Kim at a rest service plaza, a little south of Albany, NY, I figured out how to thaw out the water lines to the house water pump.  So we had running water when underway again.

Vermont

A situation

In Vermont, near monument ave, there is an obelisk that looks like the Washington monument

A quaint Vermont Town (windchill, below zero)

Covered Bridge Picture, check.

Did that say "Moose Crossing"

New Hampshire, the sun is going down

Ski run at night, a few were closing because it was too cold to ski

Kim found a "good place" in New Hampshire.  This is not the driveway, its the main road to the place.

This is the main road out.  THe place did not have water, or septic and we had a little trouble getting out of the snow to leave - no pictures of that fiasco.

We ended up boon-docking at a truck stop.  Is that frost on the inside of the windows - yes.

On the way to Maine in the morning

Maine and the sunrise, and a little glare

The water was warmer than the air, windchill - 14 below.

The windows were frozen shut.  Kim paying the toll to a guy New Hampshire that had not seen a roll of quarters before.

We have seen a few states that were easy on littering - Vermont and New Hampshire $250 to $500 fines.  Massachusetts does not mess around "Fines to $10,000"; that even makes the liberal west coast $2,500 fines look tame.

"Can you see anything?"
"No, thats why I am eating a sandwich, tuning the radio, and taking a picture."

Seems like a good time to drive through NY City
