Boise, ID to Eden, ID

Short trip today only about 139 miles.  The last few pictures are at the Snake River Canyon bridge close to where Evil Knievel tried to jump the canyon on a rocket motorcycle in the 70s.

That is a pile of sugar beets (beets used to make white sugar) they are 75% water and about the size of a cantaloupe.

Gross

It is a rainy cold day in Lewiston, ID. Our last night before we make the 6 hour drive south to Boise. We decided to get warm by splitting a pizza at the nearby Pizza Hut. Shortly after we sat down, in walks a grandfather and two rambunctious young kids and they are seated right behind our booth. We sneak some crayons and coloring books to them when the granddad's back is turned and they become much quieter. Thank goodness. Then I hear the grossest quote of the day from the little boy -"Grandpa, I just dipped the salt on my tongue TWICE!" Ewwwwwwww. We are now on a BYOS program.
