Boise, ID

Maxie checking out the River behind the campground

The Boise River is a 102-mile long tributary of the Snake River

Huh???

Lots of ducks in the River - the water is clear and cold

Ughhhh-summer in Boise

Maxie got a new 'chilly pad' to help keep him cool (and a tasty new bone)

River pug!

Downtown Boise; population of Boise is just over 200,000

Boise State Broncos Stadium seats 37,000 fans and has a unique blue playing field.  As we are typing this blog post, the Broncos are playing a big game against the University of Washington Huskies (in Seattle).

Rafters in the Boise River...shortly after this photo was taken the raft turned over and all parties were dunked in the cold River!

Boise is very hiker and biker friendly with the 25-mile Boise Greenbelt that links over 850 acres of parks and natural areas along the Boise River.

There are several sets of rapids that rafters and floaters enjoy; every year over 100,000 people have fun braving the River.

The #1 thing to do in Boise is to float the River.  We decided to partake in the fun on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.  We made our purchases at the local sporting goods store and started our trip at Boise's Barber Park.  We finished the 6 mile ride at Ann Morrison Park.

More rapids we conquered in the float!

Our rig - the "River Run" - two seats for twice the fun!

Before the float - very exciting! (Well, one of us is showing their excitement....)

In some parts we could float lazily down the River and enjoy the sun and wildlife!  We completed the float in just under 2 hours.

Ahhhhhh...........

There were a lot of rafts and floats in the River this long holiday weekend.
