North Bend, OR -to- Oregon Dunes, OR -to- Portland, OR

Maxie is so sleepy!

Bridge to the Oregon Sand Dunes

The Oregon Dunes are a unique area of windswept sand that is the result of millions of years of wind, sun, and rain erosion on the Oregon Coast. These are the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America.  Author Frank Herbert was inspired to write the famous science fiction novel Dune based on his research about the dunes of this area.
Saw a sign on the side of the road that said "Dune Buggy on the Sand Hills"....so naturally we stopped!  This is a pic from our ATV!

Going up a hill (one of many)

Our sweet side-by-side ride!

Pugs waiting for us while we were tearing up the sand dunes!

A really narrow tunnel in Oregon

Sign outside of a Portland coffee shop.....oh Portland......

Portland "news, entertainment, trouble"

A hipster coffee shop - a lot of skinny jeans, thick black glasses, and tattoos....

House boats on the Columbia River

Creative homeless sign with a target drawn on cardboard asking people to "try their luck" and throw coins at him.  Portland.
