We left Kansas City a few hours before the snowstorm. We had to drive down to Oklahoma City, OK to avoid the heaviest snow and some closed roads; it added about two hundred miles but it was quicker. After we reached Oklahoma City we turned west and went through Texas and New Mexico before we reached Phoenix, AZ. The trip was a little over 1,350 miles and took us about 29 hours.

The snow was not too bad, but the roads iced a little after 3am. We passed many truck crashes: jackknifed, slid-off-the-road, rolled, and flipped. |
